NEW YORK, January 30, 2008 — WNYC, in collaboration with Public Radio International (PRI) and several other public radio stations, will air special coverage of the "Super Duper Tuesday" primaries on Tuesday, February 5. from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.

WNYC hosts Brian Lehrer and Amy Eddings will anchor the evening's coverage, checking in regularly with public radio reporters around the country who will provide on-the-ground reporting about what's happening in their states.

The Super Duper Tuesday coverage will also introduce a special voter experiment, "America's Exit Poll." Using special voice-to-text technology and feedback analysis tools, hosts John Hockenberry and Adaora Udoji will be able to interact with voters across all 22 primary states via phone, e-mail and the Web. Every listener's contribution will dynamically become part of the coverage in real time, altering the direction of the conversation. Udoji and Hockenberry will report listener sentiments, talking about the issues they raise and provoking more participation. In the end, they'll have a sense of interesting, unreported and changing trends, supported by the voices of voters themselves.

"The Takeaway with John Hockenberry & Adaora Udoji," the new upcoming morning drive news program from PRI and WNYC, produced in editorial collaboration with the BBC, the "New York Times" and WGBH Radio, will launch this spring.

Some listeners may be called back and invited to go on air with the show's hosts.

WNYC's coverage of Super Duper Tuesday will begin at 7 p.m. February 5 and run through the early morning until the California votes are called. It can be streamed live at wnyc.org, PRI.org and americasexitpoll.org.

The show will also be distributed nationally by PRI and simulcast on multiple other public radio stations around the country in California, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, New York, New Mexico, Kentucky, Utah and Virginia among other states.
